Rentería’s injury is a blow
News are not good on Colombian side. Wason Rentería (Strasbourg, Fra) suffered a knock on today’s game and seems like he won’t be able to play in next Saturday game against Venezuela. Nevertheless there’s a little hope that he could be on the pitch against Argentina (Nov 20th). He was expected to be at Medellín on Sunday’s night, but he might not come and be replaced.
So now the question is: who will play with Falcao as forward on Saturday game? Let’s see the other players on the list:
- Rodallega (Necaxa, Mex): seems to be Pinto’s favorite, but I really doubt he could play along side with Falcao.
- D. Moreno (Once Caldas): He played with Falcao in a friendly game against Perú some months ago, but it didn’t work well, so that’s another problem.
- T. Moreno (San Luis, Mex): He’s not a forward but might be some kind of solution. Pinto’s would have to change his current tactic (4-3-1-2) and play 4-4-1-1 or 4-3-2-1 using Falcao as the only forward.
I’d prefer to call someone else, and that man would be Carmelo Valencia (Atlético Nacional).
In other news, although Pasarela wants Falcao to play on River’s next Wednesday game, Pinto insists he needs him with Colombia the entire week, so he would miss that game.

I don’t think so. I mean, angel is a really great player and I’d love to see him again on National Team, but we don’t *need* him. we have some great strikers (like Rentería and Falcao)
